HEALTHeNET was founded in 2000 by Western New York’s three health plans (HealthNow, Independent Health, and Univera) and four hospital systems (Catholic Health System, Erie County Medical Center, Kaleida Health, and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center) on the principle that collaboration can work, and together more can be accomplished than if done individually.
Today, HEALTHeNET is one of the largest successful administrative data exchanges in the country and used by 95% of provider organizations in Western New York. The all-payer search capability enables provider staff to go to one place and have a high confidence level that they will obtain relevant, important and timely information on a patient.
The solid foundation that HEALTHeNET has built in Western New York is a tribute to the foresight and vision of its founding stakeholders. This vision has provided the launch pad for other opportunities for clinical collaboration that enable better quality of care, better patient health, and lower costs for health care locally.
Protecting patient privacy is of the utmost importance to HEALTHeNET. With this in mind we have developed privacy and security policies and procedures that take into account the patient’s rights and concerns. Click here to view the HEALTHeNET Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures.
